Objective Of UGC Post Doctoral Fellowship For Women Candidate
The objective of the post doctoral fellowship for women candidates is to provide an opportunity to carry out their advanced studies and research in the field of science, engineering and technology, humanities and social sciences in Indian Universities and Colleges. This fellowship supports the students financially who are economically weak but wanted to pursue Ph.D. course in order to secure their career for themselves.
Benefits Of Post Doctoral Fellowship For Women Candidates
- Here are some benefits of this UGC Post-Doctoral Fellowship 2023 scheme:
- The amount of INR 38,800/- per month will be provided in the beginning and after two years they will increase up to INR 10,000/- on monthly basis.
- Amount of INR 50,000/- will be provided on annual basis in the form of a contingency grant
- Candidates with PWD will be given sum of INR 2,000/- on the monthly basis for reader or escort assistance
Eligibility Criteria
The following candidates will be eligible for the UGC Post-Doctoral Fellowship:
- Must be Indian Citizen
- Applicant should not be working currently
- Only women candidates are eligible
- The candidates age should be below 55 years as on last date of submission of application form and age relaxation of 5 years is given for SC/ST/OBC/ PWD
- Minimum of 55% marks at undergraduate level and minimum of 60% marks at postgraduate level is required to be eligible. And for reserved (SC/ST/OBC/PWD) minimum of 50% at undergraduate level and minimum of 55% marks at postgraduate level is required
- Transgender candidates are eligible for this fellowship
Important Dates
Online application form will start from September 05, 2023 and the last date to apply online is October 10, 2023. Applicants should apply before the last date to get rid of server-hanging issues.
Selection Procedure For UGC Post Doctoral Fellowship
- Here are some points to know for the process of selection for this fellowship:
- The candidate’s online applications received will be scrutinized by the screening committee
- Short listed candidates will be called to appear before the expert committee constituted by the Commission
- No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for appearing in the interview
- The commission’s decision will be final
- If the candidate is availing any other fellowship /project from any other organization at the time of selection, she shall be required to choose for one
- The award is subject to UGC guidelines and will be effective from 1st April of the selection year or the actual date of joining the University, College or Institution
