National Fellowship for OBC Students 2023 was launched by the University Grant Commission for the students who all are pursuing M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree. By this scholarship is to help the needy students from all over the India. There are only 1000 slots are available in this scheme in which 4% of seats are reserved for the students with disabilities. National Fellowship for OBC Students 2023

National Fellowship for OBC Students 2023 was launched by the UGC (University Grant Commission) for the students who are pursuing M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree of other backward class category only. Students will get the opportunity to complete research work as a senior research fellow and junior research fellow. By the help of this scholarship students can complete their research without any extra burdon on them. Fellowship duration will be maximum five years in that 2 years of junior research fellowship and rest 3 years for senior research fellowship. Monetary benefits will be given to the selected students. Selection entrance will be made on the basis of UGC-NET and CSIR-UGC-NET examination merit base. So with the help of this scheme you can get benefits and financial help. Fellowship Duration

  • M.Phil duration 2 years
  • M.Phil. + Ph.D. duration 5years.
  • Ph.D. duration 5 years.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must clear UGC-NET and CSIR-NET examinations.
  • Must secure admission in M.Phil./Ph.D. degree course
  • Applicant must belong to OBC category.
  • Applicant must not be getting any other benefits from the central or state government or other bodies like UGC for pursuing M.Phil/Ph.D.

Selection Process

  • Screening of the applicant will be made.
  • A merit list will be prepared on the basis of UGC-JRF and CSIR-NET-JRF examination marks.

  • Unsatisfactory progress of research work.
  • Misconduct/misbehavior/corrupt practices
  • Plagiarism or unethical practices
  • Employed during fellowship
  • Already availing of any other scholarship/fellowship.
