IET India Scholarship 2023
The IET India Scholarship Award 2023 is the largest scholarship programme in India for undergraduate engineering students. It is designed by the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) to acknowledge and support future engineering leaders in India. The 7th edition of the award program aims to inspire undergraduate engineering students by recognizing their creativity, innovation, leadership, and excellence. Students from any year (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th) and engineering specializations can compete for a combined scholarship amount of up to worth Rs. 5,00,000/-. The IET is among the world’s largest professional societies for engineers, collaborating closely with industry, academia, and government to engineer a better world. Eligibility Criteria
- The eligibility criteria for the scholarship award are as follows:
- Open for students studying in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of a full-time regular undergraduate engineering programme (in any field) approved by AICTE/UGC.
- Applicants must have cleared all regular credit courses in a single attempt.
- Applicants must have scored at least 60% marks in aggregate or an equivalent CGPA of at least 6 on a 10-point scale in the semesters cleared so far.
- There is no age limit for the applicants.
Benefits of IET India Scholarship Award
The organization is rewarding INR 5,00,000/- as the scholarship amount to the students having great innovative ideas. However, the scholarship money will be awarded to both the National and Regional Levels. The selected applicants will acquire the scholarship awards as mentioned below:
For Regional Round of Selection:
- There will be 5 regional centers and the scholarship award will be as follows:
- Regional round winner – INR 60,000 + Certificate + IET Membership
- Regional round runner-up – INR 40,000 + Certificate + IET Membership
For National Finals:
- The winners of the regional round will compete for national finals and the scholarship award will be as follows:
- Winner – INR 3,00,000 + Certificate + IET Membership
- 1st runner-up – INR 1,70,000 + Certificate + IET Membership
- 2nd runner-up – INR 1,50,000 + Certificate + IET Membership
IET India Scholarship Selection Process
Evaluation will be done at 4 different levels. Students have to clear all these 4 levels to receive the scholarship awards:
Weightage
- Initial shortlisting will be done based on applications submitted by the candidates. It is important to note that only students who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for IET India Scholarship Award 2023. The weightage given to each section of the application is as follows:
- Academics – 60%
- Extra & Co-Curricular – 20%
- Outreach – 10%
- Professional – 10%
Online test
- Shortlisted candidates have to prepare for the next level which will be Online Test.
- The test will be held online, containing the question on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Science.
- The question paper will be MCQ based and contains 50 questions.
- After the result selected candidates will proceed for the next round.
Regional Level Assessment:
- Presentation is to be made by the candidate on the topic given by the Jury members.
- The topic of the presentation will convey by the jury members to the contestants 10 days before the contest.
- The Regional Assessment will be conducted across 4 regions:
- South
- North
- Regional East + North East
- West
The National Finals
- Winners of the regional assessment level will go to the national finals.
- Candidates have to prepare a presentation on their vision and solution, as they see itfor an engineering problem that is relevant to society.
- It may also include Group Discussion.
- The topic of GD will given by the jury on the day of the national finals.

- When students fulfil the eligibility criteria, they may go ahead with the application process. The eligible students can apply for the IET India Scholarship Award through the IET scholarship portal. Given below are the steps to apply for this scholarship:

- Read all the details carefully and click on the ‘Register Now’ button.
- The candidate should fill all the required details in the registration form and submit.
- After successful registration, login using registered email id and password.
- Furthermore, the candidates are required to continue to fill in details like personal details, academic information, professional activities and co-curricular activities in the scholarship application.
- Cross-check the filled application, and then submit the application form.
