SERB Research Scientist Scheme 2024
The SERB Research Scientist Scheme was introduced by the Science and Engineering Board of India. This will grant young scientists affiliated with the INSPIRE Faculty and Ramanujan Fellows an additional two years following the conclusion of their 5 year term to carry on with their study and will offer financial support to see it through to completion.
Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences are the focus areas of the SERB research scientist plan. There is a 2 year term to the SERB research scientist plan. The candidate may submit an offline application through their institute for the SERB research scientist initiative.

Objective of SERB Research Scientist Scheme 2024
The primary goal of the scheme is to give Ramanujan Fellows and INSPIRE Faculty students a platform. All INSPIRE Faculty and Ramanujan Fellow winners are eligible to apply for this program through their individual institutes. With the help of this scheme, they will have an additional two years and financial support to finish their study. Throughout the interim, the scheme gives them the chance to pursue conventional work while still carrying out their studies.

Eligibility Criteria

- The applicant must be a Ramanujan fellow or an INSPIRE Faculty student.
- The fellowship must be finished within six months after the end of the applicant’s normal term for the Ramanujan Fellowship of SERB or the INSPIRE Faculty of DST.
- A single application for this program may be submitted by Ramanujan fellows or INSPIRE Faculty students during their careers.
- The scheme’s age restriction is 40 years old.

Duration of SERB Support
- The Scheme is a conceptual, transient assignment.
- The scheme has a 2 year term that can be extended by one additional year based on the candidate’s performance.
- The funding cannot, under any circumstances, be extended for more than three years.
