Every year, science and math Olympiads are held by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education. The 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade students are the target audience for this Olympiad. Students that qualify may compete in the Indian National Olympiad. Students will have the chance to put their knowledge, analytical abilities and reasoning skills to use in real world professional situations.
The purpose of the national level exams is to evaluate student’s conceptual knowledge, logical reasoning, laboratory proficiency and most importantly, their ability to apply problem solving techniques to fresh circumstances both theoretical and experimental. Students may now assess or analyze their problem solving, analytical and logical reasoning abilities. Applying online is possible before the deadline. The test will now take place towards the end of February and beginning of March 2022.

Objective of HBCSE Olympiad
The Olympiads do not immediately result in any employment advantages but they do serve as a catalyst for starting a career in science or mathematics and starting on a lifetime path filled with fascinating intellectual difficulties.

Eligibility Criteria
Science Olympiad:
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- The applicant must have been born between 1 July 2002 and 30 June 2007 all dates included.
- The applicant must be enrolled in class 8th, 9th, 10th or 12th.
- The applicant must reside in or be a student in school in India.
- The applicant must not have passed the board test for the 12th grade and not have applied for admission to a university.
- Applicant must not participate in IOQJS 2021-2022.
Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Junior Science:
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- The applicant must have been born on or before either 1 January 2007 or 31 December 2008 inclusive.
- The applicant must reside in or be a student in school in India.
- The applicant must be enrolled in classes 8, 9 or 10.
- The applicant cannot show up in the IOQA, IOQB, IOQC or IOQP 2021-2022.
Mathematics Olympiad:
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- The applicant birth must fall on or after August 1, 2021.
- The applicant must reside in or be a student in school in India.
- A student in grades 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12 is required to apply.
- The applicant must not have successfully completed the 12th grade board test and not have applied for admission to a university.

Registration Fee
- The Olympiad’s registration cost is Rs. 200 per subject.
- When registering for the exam in the offline method candidates must pay the price.
Examination Pattern
Science Olympiad:
- There will be two sections to the exam.
- Applicants will have 75 minutes to complete the Part 1 question paper.
- Applicants will have 120 minutes to complete the Part 2 question paper.
- Part 1 and Part 2 of the exam will be separated by 15 minutes.
Mathematical Olympiad:
- There will be two sections to the test.
- There will be 12 questions in Part A. an MCQ based system
- The exam to pass Part A takes 75 minutes to complete.
- Each question has an integral response that falls between 0 and 99.
- Part B has three questions. The test will be an opinion based paper.
- The applicants get 150 minutes to complete part B of the exam.
Registration Procedure of HBCSE Olympiad 2023
- Students can register themselves at their school to participate in the Olympiad.
- If their own school is not a certified NSC center, students may also register at another institution.
