Raman Charpak Fellowship 2024

The Raman Charpak Fellowship  2024 has been announced by the Indo-French Centre for Promotion of Advanced Research, open to PHD and master’s students from France and India. In honor of Professors C.V. Raman, an Indian Nobel laureate, and Georges Charpak, a French laureate, the Raman Charpak Fellowship Program was established. In February 2013, while the French president was visiting India, this fellowship program was established.

This fellowship program’s objective is to offer two to six months of financial assistance to PHD research students from France and India. Students seeking education in specific subject disciplines will be eligible for the award. Applications for the scholarship will be accepted beginning in May 2022 with a deadline in July for submissions.

Objective of Raman Charpak Fellowship 2024

The main objective of the fellowship is to encourage master’s and PhD student exchanges between France and India. The program’s goal is to increase the scope and complexity of upcoming initiatives in science, technology and innovation.

Benefits of Raman Charpak Fellowship 2024

The benefits of this fellowship is given below:

For Indian Fellow:

  • The chosen Indian applicants will get a monthly fellowship support of 1,500 euros to cover daily costs, local transport expenses, lodging costs and Social Security costs.

For French Fellow:

  • The chosen French applicants will get a fellowship assistance payment of Rs. 40,000 per month for daily expenditures, local transport and other costs, up to a maximum monthly accommodation price of Rs. 45,000.
  • The chosen applicants will get an economy class round-trip ticket between France and India.
  • Anywhere that it is necessary, obtain health and travel insurance.
  • The chosen candidates will get reimbursement for any associated administrative fees related to registration and visas.
  • During their fellowship period and while residing in their host countries, Fellows may receive supplementary funding (up to 500 Euros for Indian Fellows and equal funding in Indian Rupees for French Fellows) in order to participate in seminars or workshops.
  • The candidate’s families will not get any assistance throughout the fellowship time for those who are chosen.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of this fellowship is given below:

  • The applicant must live in india.
  • He or she has to have applied to a reputable Indian university or research center to pursue a Ph.D.
  • French applicants must be residents of France and enrolled in a recognized university or research center in France to pursue a Ph.D.
  • The candidates must be graduates of an accredited university or institute with a master’s degree in science, technology, or medicine.
  • As of 1 April 2021, the applicant’s maximum age should be thirty years old.
  • Students who hold permanent employment at an institution or university, as well as those who have previously received funding from CEFIPRA within the framework of CEFIPRA projects, are ineligible.
  • A letter of reference from the PhD advisor at the individual’s native lab.
  • A recommendation and agreement letter from the fellowship lab’s intended host supervisor

  • 5 pages of detail on the research plan, including the title, research work plan and an explanation of the benefits the applicant would obtain while residing at the suggested research institute or university in France or India, should be submitted in the approved format.
  • Study Concept The accomplishments and research interests should be summed up in a two-page Curriculum Vitae in the format required, together with a recent photo and CV.
  • A reference letter from the PHD supervisor at the student’s home lab
  • A letter of approval and recommendation from the fellowship lab’s intended host supervisor
