District Merit Scholarship Kerala 2024

District Merit Scholarship is offered to Kerala students who are enrolled in Higher Secondary, VHSC, ITI or polytechnic courses. This scholarship is one of the Government of Kerala’s initiatives to encourage Kerala students to pursue engineering studies. DMS gives financial assistance to impoverished students who are unable to fund their education. It also enables deserving students to complete engineering degrees without financial constraints.

Objective of District Merit Scholarship Kerala 2024

The main objective of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to meritorious Kerala students studying upper secondary, ITI, VHSC or Polytechnic studies but unable to pay college costs.

Rewards Details Eligibility Criteria

  • First year Students of:
    • Plus Two/UG/PG/PHD program in a higher secondary school, college, institute or university that is either government sponsored, assisted, or recognized as unaided.
    • ITI/ITC Centers affiliated with the NCVT’s 11th Class Technical or Vocational Program.
    • A course that is not listed as an option for the merit-plus-means scholarship system.
  • Should belong to a minority group, such as Parsis, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs or Zoroastrians.
  • Must have scored at least 50% on the last board or university test or an equivalent grade.
  • The family’s annual income should not exceed Rs 2 lakh.
  • No more scholarships or stipends will be granted.

Benefits

  • Admission and tuition fees are limited at Rs. 10,000 each year.
  • The maximum monthly maintenance allowance is Rs. 1,200 (for ten months).

Scholarship for the Central Sector – NSP (CSS)

Benefits

  • For integrated/5-year programs, graduation costs Rs. 10,000 per year for the first three years and Rs. 20,000 per year for the fourth and fifth years.
  • After graduation: Rs. 20,000 per year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants who achieved better than 80% of Class 12 pass rate applicants are eligible for this prize.
  • Students must be enrolled in normal undergraduate or graduate degree programs at institutions or colleges accredited by AICTE, UGC, MCI, DCI or other regulatory authorities.
  • The family’s total annual income should be less than Rs. 8 lakh.

State Merit Scholarships Kerala

Benefits

  • Graduate students earn Rs. 1,250 per year, shared among 300 students.
  • Postgraduate students: 150 will earn Rs.1,500 each year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students enrolled in a first-year undergraduate or postgraduate program at a publicly or privately financed school or university are eligible to apply.
  • They must achieve at least 50% or higher on the qualifying test to meet the required percentage of marks.
  • The family’s annual income should be below Rs.1 lakh.
